Our Southerly 47 is a very special boat especially to us as we spent much time future proofing and making subtle changes in design to really make her special. Equipped with the renowned electro-hydraulic swing keel she is a boat that is very capable for both Solent cruising and entering estuaries and harbours that other blue water cruisers simply wouldn’t enter but also a true blue water cruiser.
We have spent time on Ibiza, Mallorca, Sardinia and around Corsica. She is back in the U.K. since 2021 after Covid for complete overhaul which is now completed. We are sad to sell but my wife has had a serious back operation and does not feel confident sailing and after some U.K. buddy trips I accept she is too good a boat to be restricted in her use to local trips. This is a big trip, live aboard cruiser. Ready to go!
We are the only owners from new and she has been meticulously maintained since her launch in March 2014. Just in the last month (August 2023) she has been out of the water and the ongoing maintenance programme of her annual hull compound and polish together with completing the replacement of all skin fittings.
This Southerly 47 is also unique in that when designing her we worked with the Southerly team in Chichester Harbour to include in her design the three vertical windows in the spacious rear full width master cabin, this was a great move as it give so much more light to this area and make this Southerly 47 truly unique.
